Long Island artist Rick Smith's
artwork is featured at the Abiogenesis web site. This online exhibition includes paintings,
mixed media sculpture, and photo-etchings dealing with
the controversial subject of alien abductions. Rick's art
features the unique characteristic of expressing the
alien abduction experience in a way that satisfies the
curious and soothes the troubled souls of the abductees.
ick's artistic talent allows him to
express the abductee experience through art in a way that
manages to lessen fear of the abduction experience. His
art expresses the way we feel when we are abducted. He
grasps our twisted emotions of the moment and churns them
together with all the ambivalence abductees experience.
Like the old saying, the best way to
overcome a fear of horses is to get right back on. For
abductees, perhaps the best thing is to get back on the
horse, or to simply face the abduction experience through
art. Rick's art has the capacity to desensitize abductees
to the trauma.

This is very critical for abductees
suffering in silence. If a picture is worth a thousand
words, then Rick's work says it all. His art uplifts and
refreshes the spirit and speaks to our hearts and the
secret thoughts we feel but dare not share share with
others.
Rick also designed the AAER logo for our Alien Abduction Experience and Redearch Center:
Rick's positive attitude towards
abductions is expressed through his art. He likens himself in a
very positive way to the poem, The Road Not Taken. As
poet Robert Frost wrote:
"Two roads
diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
